Happy Birthday to my sis for Friday!!!!

Friday on the 29th my sis turned 29! We joined them for supper and a movie on Friday night! Was very nice. Last night my mom had us all over for supper which was great as usual. I hope the last year of your 20's will be AMAZING Chrislie :-) So glad they've been living up in JHB for the last few years and that we've been able to spend so much more time together!

Another lungaversary and kind of emotional week.

Friday marked 8 and a half years with these lungs. Can't believe it's heading downhill towards 9 years now! As if by coincidence the "9" candles were on sale on Friday when I went to the shops!!??? What are the odds... so I had to buy one. Get to light it in six months' time...

This week marked 6 months since I've stopped working. Time really flies... This year has gone by really quickly. Feels a bit surreal. And crazy.

Socialised quite a bit since I last blogged... Had lunch on Thursday with Andrew and Bianca, and some ex-PE people were here this weekend, staying with Bianca, so we ate out with them last night and this morning. Some fantastic food... also bought a scale this week.... happily weighing in 58.5kg (since not gymming anymore I never get to weight myself and only see my weight when doing lung functions).

I also felt really annoyed at people staring at my oxygen when I go out, maybe just because I've been annoyed the whole week. Worried about some friends being really sick. And also stepped down as Secretary of Gauteng Transplant Sports Association and handed over everything yesterday after about 4 years of being in the role. Stepped down for various reasons, but will be the end of an era in a way. So it's been a bit of an emotional week.

Next week is my sister's birthday, and hopefully a better week in general.

Yummy food and the rest

Not much to report on here... went to the dentist today, he replaced an old filling that was starting to cause issues. Wasn't too bad at all. Then had lunch with Bianca and Andrew at Croft & Co. Love how many coffee shops have plug points for people to charge their laptops..... ie somewhere for me to charge my portable oxygen! The battery life is about 2-3 hours, depending on what setting it's on, but always nice not to have to stress about it. Had a yummy cheese sandwich and cheesecake in a jar for dessert!

Yesterday was also Andrew's birthday, so we went out to Bellini's in Illovo. It's a block away from where I used to work in 2008-2011, but I've never been there. It was a great evening. Great company, and again, great food!!! Had Dijon steak! Was magnificent. ( Note: I didn't eat all of those chips! I gave it my best effort but I couldn't)

That has pretty much been the highlights of my week. We didn't do anything last weekend, just chilled at home. I didn't even get out of my pajamas. We did do some stuff around the house that needed to be done..... eg changing light-bulbs in hard to reach places! I still need to get my adrenaline rush somehow! Even of that is on oxygen, on a ladder, on text-books, on the stairs!

The rest of the time I've just been busy with some Love Life; Gift life stuff.... there was another article about our #save7lives campaign, yay!

Feeling very nostalgic, as Facebook and Timehop keeps reminding me that a year ago we were in San Fran visiting Anna and Casey... It was SUCH an awesome trip, and I'm sooooo glad we were able to go. Money spent on travelling is ALWAYS money well spent.

#save7lives

The four of us at Love Life; Gift Life have been working pretty hard on this campaign for Save 7 Lives Day - which is today!

We've been encouraging friends and family of organ recipients to express their gratitude towards the donor who saved their loved one using the hashtag #save7lives. The response has been really great!!! We're getting so many pictures! Below are some of my own friends and family who have shown their support. Please continue to send your pictures!!!

We've even gotten some media exposure!!!!! Go read it HERE!

So if you haven't yet, please like our Facebook page, or follow us on Instagram and Twitter!

July!!!!!

REALLY can't believe July is here! Five days in already! It's been pretty chilly so the kitties have been exceptionally cute and cuddly. Lungs had a great "feeling well" spurt on Thursday last week so I did some shopping. Was perfectly timed with the winter sales so I got some great buys and presents for upcoming birthdays etc. Thinking I should maybe go back and carry on where my energy ran out last time!

Had a quiet weekend, just chilled at home with Chris, and on Sunday my friend Brendan had us over for lunch to unveil his house after it has been renovated! We saw the pre-renovation house in Jan, and the results are SPECTACULAR.... Really brilliant. He turned a dump into a heritage gem. Had a really great time.

This week I've just been busy with admin.... submitted my tax return, Love Life; Gift Life stuff, cleaned our fridge PROPERLY, had bio today... very domestic. Want to try and do a little bit of gardening tomorrow if I can, garden has been SOOOOO neglected and winter not helping.
