Alice again! I'm at my dad's work right now, trying to load some pictures... The one in the wheelchair is me at PE airport waiting for my flight, making some last-minute phonecalls. Then there's me getting physio in preperation for surgery.. And waiting to be wheeled into theatre, feeling VERY scared and nervous!!!!! Then there's me on the ventilator.. note the various drips and 7 drainage pipes! And the steroids made me fat overnight, lol! The next pic is me waking up. I can't remember this and was very confused! But at least I'm looking pink! Then there's me with my mom and sister in Surgical ICU, I remember this! After that it's me in the general ward with the teddy my mom bought me to keep me company ;-) HOME AT LAST! In record time! Me and my mom outside our flat, the day after being released from hospital. Then there's me in an OPEN AIR coffee shop without any smokers, away from other people. It was taken this morning, my first public outing! Very nice...And finally (wees geduldig Annelie!!), my mom! Hope you can figure out which photo is which! It looks a bit random to me!!! But my readers are clever people :-) That's all for now, hope you enjoy it! Your prayers made it possible!!!!

Liewe Alice

Soos jy my ken, nie altyd baie geduld nie, daarom het jy so gou uit die hospitaal gekom om my tot ruste te bring. Jy lyk wonderlik en sien uit na my kuier. Baie liefde, Annelie

Alice - from the picture of you in the airport to the one of you confused after surgery - there's such a difference!!! No more pasty whiteness!! You look amazing, and I bet you feel amazing too - your speedy recovery is a miracle! I only hope when I have to have a transplant mine will go the same way!
Lots of love,
Carla

Alice...We found your blog through Nate and Tricia's. Transplantation hits close to our household, as my son's dad (my first husband) recieved a heart transplant Dec. 30, 2006. He was 38, and due to complications from his liver, the Lord called him home. Our son is 17 now and we love talking about his dad's life. We celebrate his memory daily as he was one of my best friends since childhood! Knowing that there are NO guarantees in life, my husband and I decided to take a step on faith an adopt a little girl from Guatemala. I invite you to read our story when you have time. I am so thankful to God for your speedy recovery. Your blog truly has been inspirational! Love in Christ. Cheri harrisquest.blogspot.com

Whoo

I see Dutch words... (wees geduldig) Very funny, but I first thought it was just some kind of grammatic mistake. ;)

I'm Tamara, a girl from Holland, and I've discovered your blog through Natan and Tricia.

Like your blog!

greetings Tamara

Hi Alice! I have been following your story since I read about you on Nate and Tricias blog. I had a double lung and heart transplant in 2001 here in the states. I am sooooo jealous! You look great! I was in the hospital for 3 months, and you got out in like 2 weeks! The first time I looked at myself in the mirror, I cried for 2 hours :( I have been praying that you would get your transplant and then for a speedy recovery! God is great! I am now waiting for another transplant (liver and kidney), and waiting is the hardest part, I think. If you could pray that my transplant comes soon and that all goes well, I would appreciate it!
Your friend,
Allison
