National Woman's Day and 200 DAYS WITH NEW LUNGS!!!!!

I've been having a great day today, even though it's only been me myself and I! Last night's movie and supper was very cool, although the movie was a bit long and scary... Heath Ledger's acting was brilliant, and disturbing. Had a good time though, and was so nice to catch up with Suzanne.

Went shopping this morning. There was this sale... on shoes... buy one pair get one free... and the shoes were beautiful... so I HAD to buy a pair. And naturally got a pair for free!!! So I'll just say it's my anniversary prezzie to myself, lol!!!! Also had to get mascara, and while looking around this woman came to me and said they did free make-up sessions for all the women to celebrate Woman's Day! So obviously I wasn't in a hurry, and had my make-up done!! Luckily I wasn't wearing any to begin with!

Just came back from gym now. Looked like WORKOUT BARBIE or something with the make-up, but it was great. Haven't been to gym in 2 or 3 weeks, so it was awesome. Took it easy and only cycled for 30 mins and did weights. Legs feeling like jelly now, but got my long-awaited endorphin fix, thank goodness. Really think I'm an addict. I get SO cranky when I don't exercise. Also wasn't short of breath AT ALL, and stupid home FEV1 thingy showing improvement, so that's good.

Only got to bed at 1am this morning, so going to bed early tonight and chilling. To end off with here's a message to my new lungies...

THANK YOU FOR THE MOST AMAZING 200 DAYS OF EASY BREATHING AND TAKING ME PLACES I NEVER WOULD HAVE SEEN AGAIN WITHOUT YOU, AND MEETING NEW PEOPLE. HOPE YOU LIKE YOUR NEW HOME, BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO BE STAYING HERE FOR A VERY VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME. WILL DO MY ABSOLUTE BEST LOOKING AFTER YOUR EVERY NEED. LOVE YOU GUYS...

My prayers are also with my donor family tonight... I owe them SO MUCH.

Hi Alice,
I have been reading your blog for several months now (in the UK) and I just wanted to say massive congratulations on reaching this milestone, and may you continue to go from strength to strength in your 'new' life!
I am a nurse and previously spent quite some time looking after young adults with CF. In my day, the life expectancy was considerably lower so it is wonderful to see how treatment has evolved in the past 10 years and how now people with CF can enjoy a good quality of life for longer than before.
Organ donation is, of course, vital so it's great to see you championing the cause! Hopefully we will get the message across in the UK and encourage many more people to give the greatest gift that can ever be made.
My very best wishes and heartfelt prayers to you.
Love, N xxx
